Document Type Change Utility
The Document Type Change Utility allows a department admin to change the document type of an existing document in the IWS system. This option may be needed if the incorrect document type was chosen from the Inbox or File Upload areas.
Once a document type is changed using this utility, the document will start over in workflow and follow the path setup for the new document type. It will go through Indexing again.
Action Buttons
- Change Document Type: Click this button after entering the document number and selecting options to change to the New Document Type.
- Save: Saves or "executes" the document type change action.
Fields and settings
- Document Number: Enter the document number of the existing IWS document that needs to be changed. Once this number has been entered and you move to another field, the system will display the current information and image of that document on the right panel.
- New Document Type: Select the new document type from the list of available department document types.
- Map Indexes: If this option is selected, the system will display all index fields of the NEW document type. The admin can now choose to map index values from the old document type to the new, or manually enter index values as needed. All required fields are marked.
- If this option is not chosen, and the admin decides to just change the document type without mapping index values from old to new, the system will deliver the document to the initial queue for the new document type (probably an indexing queue depending on the department setup).
- Save: Use this button to complete the mapping and document type change process.
Fill in all fields and click the Save button to complete the document type change.
