How To Access This Page In IWS

Displayed after login or via Main menu -> Dashboard

The Dashboard screen shows us the main menu, department information and any workflow queues we have access to.

Menu options and queues will vary depending on assigned access.

The Main Menu bar can be collapsed to take up less space using the "hamburger" icon to the right of the menu title bar.

The Main Menu and Dashboard.

  1. User and Department information.
    1. Current logged in user name.
    2. Current department
    3. Change Department button.
      1. Use this to change to another IWS department if access allows.
    4. Logout button.
      1. Use this option to logout of the IWS system.  You will be returned to the login page.
  2. Global Search.
    1. The Global Search allows searching by IWS document number and for text contained within a document (separate from the indexes used in the Specific Search under the Search menu).  See the Global Search section of this documentation for more information.
  3. Menu options.
    1. Use the main menu options to navigate all areas of the IWS system.  See the main navigation tree of this documentation for information on each menu section.
  4. Alerts, User Preferences and Help.
    1. The Alerts bell icon () will show the number of unread system alerts for your user account.  Alerts can be set on individual documents in IWS.  See the Alerts section of this documentation for more information.
    2. The Full Screen icon () will expand the IWS view to the entire size of the display device.
    3. The User Preferences area () allows updating of saved searches, time zone, and other user settings.  See the User Preferences section of this documentation for more information.
    4. The Help icon () opens this help system.
  5. My Views (added in version 6.13).
    1. The My Views section (if setup for the current department by the department admin and if users account security allows) displays a "queue like" view of documents from different queues, document types, statuses, etc.  This is meant to provide a snapshot view and count of documents based on the View configuration.  The View offers the ability to see the master document for any document within the View.
    2. Click into a view to see the documents contained within.
    3. The View Admin/Setup is described in the Department Admin help section.
    4. **Views are not queues and documents cannot be worked from inside a View.  They are view overview purposes only.
  6. My Queues.
    1. This section of the Dashboard shows all queues accessible to your user account that have items waiting in them.  For clarification, only queues that currently have waiting documents in them, and that your account has access to, will show on the My Queues list.
      1. Column details (most columns can be sorted to organize your My Queues list).
        1. Queue Name: the name of the queue.  This column can be filtered using the "Queue Name Search" filter box above the column header.  Filtering the list will only show queues that match the criteria entered.
        2. Access: This column shows how many documents are currently in the queue that you have access to.  Document types can have individual security assignments.  You may have access to a queue, but not all of the document types contained in that queue.
        3. No Access: The number of documents in the queue that you do not have access to.
          1. **A hover icon will appear next to the number in this column allowing you to see what document types in the queue that you do not have access to.  If you feel the document type restriction is in error, please contact your department supervisor.
        4. Checked Out/Locked: When another IWS user has a document open in the queue, that document is locked so no other users can access it at the same time within that same queue.  The count will appear here as an indication that other documents are being worked in the queue.
        5. Oldest Document: The system will display the date and time of the oldest document currently in the queue.  This is helpful for staff and supervisors to assess the age of documents in any queue from the Dashboard.
        6. Newest Document: The date and time of the newest document currently in the queue.
