Web Service Admin
Web Services connect IWS to an external database and allows IWS to read information from that database to be used in indexing and searching. Details about the web service feed from the external system or database must be known prior to setup in this screen.
Web Service Search/List
Use the list to find and edit an existing web service. Use the +Add Service button to create a new web service.
- Use the search/filter boxes at the top of the grid to narrow the list of web service.
- The column headers can be clicked to sort each column. Click again to sort the opposite direction.
- Click on any web service record to open the edit screen.
Web Service Editing
The add/edit screen allows the system admin to add a new web service, or modify and existing web service.

Action Buttons
- Test URL: This option will test the connection to verify connectivity once all required fields are completed. This will test the latest information that has been saved. Make sure to click save before testing changes.
- Save: This button will save the web service record.
Fields and Settings
- Service Name: Enter a name to describe what this web service is used for. This appears in the web service list.
- URL: Enter the web address of the web service.
- Endpoint: Enter the endpoint of the web service.
- User: Enter the the authorized user name to connect to the web service.
- Password: Enter the the password to connect to the web service.
- Active: Select ON if this web service is currently active and available for use in IWS.
Departments (Tab)
This tab allows the system admin to assign this web service or make it available to any department in IWS. The department administrator will still have to assign the web service to their document types once it is active and assigned here.
Fields and Settings
- Access: Toggle ON to allow the department in that row to use this web service.
